EXCLUSIVE: A film adaptation of Rebecca Serle’s New York Times bestseller Expiration Dates is in development at Amazon MGM Studios, with Emma Roberts attached to star.
The news comes in the wake of former Kroll & Co. Heads Chelsea Bradshaw and Jessica Pugh launching Featherweight Pictures. The duo’s new label will produce Expiration Dates alongside Belletrists’ Roberts, Karah Preiss, and Matt Matruski and EPs David Stone and Rebecca Serle. The novel follows a woman who receives paper slips from the universe with the date her relationship will expire. When a man comes along and defies the pattern, she begins to question her predetermined timeline.
Roberts’ credits include the Amazon MGM Studios movie, Space Cadet, 55 episodes of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story anthology series, Murphy’s Scream Queens cult series, We’re the Millers, Valentine’s Day, Palo Alto and the upcoming Brian McGreevy-directed and written thriller, The Technique.
